This battery is recommended for the OWL when 12 volts is required by external equipment such as the Irrometer, tensiometer, or Anabat. The OWL itself can operate on either 6 or 12 volts.

  • float charge at 13.8 volts at 20 degrees Celsius. Temperature compensate (-0.025 volts per deg. C), i.e. 13.3 volts at 40 deg. C, 14.3 volts at 0 deg. C.
  • cycle fast charge at 14.6 volts, <0.5 amps. Temperature compensate (-0.025 volts per deg. C), i.e., 14.1 volts at 40 deg. C 15.1 volts at 0 deg. C. Switch to float when I<40 milliamps.

This battery is recommended for the OWL when 6 volts can operate everything in the system. The OWL itself can operate on either 6 or 12 volts.
